Who we are

Our History

In 2012, numerous students in Ugandan Universities showcased remarkable ingenuity, earning accolades, grants, and more for their innovative solutions. However, as time passed, only a scant few of these initiatives transitioned into viable businesses capable of significant employment generation, leaving a rising tide of unemployed youth in its wake. The pressing question loomed: why the disparity?

Upon deeper investigation, we uncovered a myriad of reasons behind the failure of these solutions to evolve into sustainable enterprises. Factors such as a lack of business acumen, an absence of an entrepreneurial community, and insufficient funding emerged as prominent hurdles.

In response to this critical need, in 2013, we established Fund Africa Ltd, a privately held company headquartered in Kampala, Uganda. Our primary objective? To address these challenges head-on and enhance the likelihood of innovative solutions blossoming into enduring ventures.

At Fund Africa, we function as an entrepreneurial support ecosystem, providing a rich array of resources tailored specifically to African entrepreneurs. From comprehensive business training to a robust launchpad, from fundraising assistance to fostering a vibrant community spirit, we endeavor to nurture the growth of ventures across the continent.

Embracing the digital age, the majority of our activities are conducted virtually, ensuring accessibility to aspiring entrepreneurs irrespective of geographical constraints. Recently, we unveiled a cutting-edge digital workspace, empowering entrepreneurs with seamless access to the tools and knowledge essential for propelling their ventures forward.

In essence, Fund Africa stands as a beacon of hope and empowerment, dedicated to catalyzing the transformation of innovative ideas into sustainable enterprises, thus driving socioeconomic progress across Africa.

Our Mission at Fund Africa is to promote entrepreneurship through research and innovation.
